What Are We Looking For?

Documoto develops, markets, and sells enterprise-scale SaaS solutions for the large and underserved equipment manufacturing aftermarket, operating with positive cash flow, happy customers, and a compelling product. We’re re-entering growth mode after executing a successful turnaround.

We are seeking a skilled Director of Digital Marketing to oversee all digital marketing efforts, using their expertise in content marketing, demand generation, growth marketing, and marketing technology.

Your Mission

As the Director of Digital Marketingyou will be Documoto’s highest-level Marketing person, tasked with the creation, launch, measurement, and optimization of our inbound and outbound Marketing efforts, delivered through your direct contributions and those of your small team of employees and contractors.  This is a high-impact position with growth potential. You will partner with Sales and Product in a “revenue team” model to deliver outstanding Marketing results.

What are the Primary Responsibilities?

  • Understand our market, our buyers/personas, their pain points, our Documoto platform, and how our solutions bring our customers compelling value.
  • Content Marketing: You will develop content and collateral based on an editorial calendar that effectively promotes Documoto and supports our mission, messaging and core values.  You’ll produce and perform editorial reviews for short- and long-form copy such as blog posts, emails, datasheets, white papers, articles, and web pages.  You’ll create and promote digital assets and videos.
  • Demand Generation:  You’ll target, attract, qualify, and deliver top-of-funnel marketing qualified leads through in-depth targeting and segmentation strategies.  You’ll build inbound and outbound campaigns then monitor, analyze, test, and continually refine all components of campaign lifecycles.  You’ll follow email marketing best practices to optimize lead generation.  You’ll utilize paid search, targeting/retargeting, and SEM to drive leads.  You’ll implement and refine our SEO strategy.
  • Marketing Technology: You will own and administer our marketing automation system (HubSpot), our corporate website, and our other marketing systems (analytics, ads, targeting).  You’ll construct campaigns, scoring models, landing pages, lists, progressive profiling, and workflows.  You’ll monitor prospect’s digital body language, run A/B tests, and measure/report marketing effectiveness through quantitative and qualitative analytics.
  • Trade Shows: You will promote our tradeshows and work cross-functionally with Sales, Services, and Product to gain maximum value out of our tradeshow investments.
  • Social Marketing: You’ll grow our nascent social presence using Twitter, LinkedIn, software review sites, partners, and others.  You’ll promote our products and releases and deploy interesting content that positions Documoto as a thought leader.
  • Management and Leadership: This role will be part of the Documoto leadership team.  We will want your voice heard on our growth execution and our business strategy.  As we grow you’ll recruit, hire and manage staff to expand Marketing’s reach.  You will supervise our contractors to ensure they provide excellent and cost-effective services in technical writing, graphics design, video production, SEO, and others.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing with 4+ years of experience as a Marketing Manager or higher. Candidates seeking a growth opportunity with a strong builder/doer capability are encouraged to apply.
  • 4-year degree in Marketing or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in demand/lead generation.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the HubSpot Marketing/Sales/CRM platform is required.
  • Experience in growth-stage B2B SaaS is required.
  • A startup + growth mindset – effectively triage work, handle a variety of tasks, execute rapidly, thrive with less oversight and process, and learn and deliver in real-time.
  • Solid understanding of key concepts such as personas, segmentation, account-based/intent-based marketing, digital body language, and multi-touch marketing.
  • Experience with SEO, SEM, Google Analytics & Ads, and Rollworks.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and present performance data in a meaningful way.
  • Top-notch writing and editorial skills are required.
  • Excellent presentation, organization, time management, and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player who is self-driven, results-oriented, fun, energetic, and coachable.
  • Experience in manufacturing, technical publications, or engineering is a big plus.
